Work from Home Ideas pt8

Installment 8

In this series, I am going to cover numerous work from home ideas that will not break the bank to get started in.

Talley ho!  We are proceeding right along and making some great progress.  By now, you should have several ideas that have hopefully sparked your interest, even if they are not what you have your heart set on doing.  Remember the goal of this is to take something that you have a talent in that you already enjoy and make a business out of it.  This is not aimed at only providing yet another business venture that you will hate.  With that said, let us now proceed to the next jobs.

Job #24

Do you enjoy writing?  If so then perhaps being a copywriter or even a business communication writer is up your alley.  These jobs write everything from articles for a company newsletter, to catalogs, to brochures and so very much more.  Businesses large and small all have a need for the expertise that a freelance writer can offer.  Businesses almost always cannot afford to have a full time writer on staff, much less enough work for a full time writer to keep busy with, enter the freelance writer.

All it normally takes is one good great assignment that will lead you to future opportunities with others who are impressed with your work.  Make sure that you very carefully proofread your work and be as through and creative as possible.  Keep copies of your work to use for a portfolio that will help show your diversity that way potential clients can see what exactly you have to really offer.

Job #25

Desktop Publishing is another great opportunity.  Designing brochures, newsletters, fliers and more all fall into the range of desktop publishing.  Creativity and a very good knowledge of computers are some key success factors in this type of business.  Being able to take some last minute rush jobs is another good scenario to up your increase of the market share.

Be careful about taking on too much work at once though, you do not want to gather a reputation for someone who does great work but cannot hit a deadline to save your life.  While great looking work will get you far, missed deadlines will put a huge drain on your success.  Once again, keep copies of your work to show to perspective clients so that they can see your diversity.  If you are willing to handle having the copies made of the final product as well once your client has approved it then you are appealing to your clients’ busy schedule once again with a great time saver.

Job #26

Magazine Contributor is a great idea for those who like to write and make their opinions heard.  Whether you contribute to magazines that do print editions, or electronic magazines and newsletters this is a great opportunity to speak your opinion and about topics, which interest you.  Look for several places to contribute material to have the best financial results.

This business requires a lot of rejection; keep that in mind as you write articles and tips.  For each item you submit there is a possibility that it will be rejected, such is the life of a contributor, however don’t take the rejections personally instead plug away and make you submissions better by taking the advice and notes that are given and use them to grow.

Job #27

Do you enjoy paying attention to detail?  Do you find yourself correcting other’s mistakes?  If so then perhaps proofreading is just the dream job you have been looking for.  The job of a proofreader is to read manuscripts, articles and other written material and correct grammatical, spelling, and mechanical errors.  This is not a job for everyone; some find it boring while others find this to be their dream career.

Check around in your area for some local writers, as well as network with other groups keep in mind that local work will help you build up your portfolio and references.  However, to remain on a steady income source, then you will have to expand to doing work with those who are across the country.  Do not give up, it will take a bit of work to actually make this career build up and take off.

Job #28

Do you enjoy helping people to distress and relax?  If so then massage therapist may be just up your alley.  This will involve needing to become a licensed massage therapist.  However demand for this is growing quickly, especially as the race for the American dream leads more and more people to working more hours and having more work based stress.  Great people skills are necessary to succeed.

Being able to offer weekend and night appointments will help increase your earning potential, as well as offering gift certificates for your services for people to give as gifts.  Also, consider doing a 2 for 1 special until you start building up a good client list.  Treat people well and keep reasonable prices will mean much continued repeat business.

Job #29

Do you enjoy staying in shape?  Is your favorite place to be the local gym working out?  If so then perhaps being a personal trainer is your dream.  Helping people lose weight and get into shape is something always helpful.  Being able to offer some guidance in the best strategy to get into shape and stay in shape is always useful.

The quest for fitness is always raging forward, people are always looking to get into shape and maintain it.  However, most people do not know how to actually do it.  Enter into the picture someone who actually knows how to help others attain their fitness goals.  Being able to help people, produce results that leave them look great and feeling better is a great honor.  Those who are able to help others this is a business they will stay happily busy.

Job #30

Women who have breastfeed themselves are likely to find they are great sources of information for those new mothers who are attempting to tread into new territory.  Lactation consultants are always in high demand, and with babies being born daily, the client lists keeps growing.  Most hospitals offer a free consultation with the in-house consultant right after birth, however once you go home, there is little help available.  Even less of the available help is available for free.

Women who are able to help and feel comfortable with this type of work are able to find very steady employment.  Often your clients will come from referrals from pediatricians of new babies who have struggling parents, and from happy new parents recommending your services.  You must be completely comfortable with the body, and be able to interact well with nervous parents and help put them at ease.

As you can see this list runs the gamut of possible jobs and businesses.  We are not done yet though, we still have many more opportunities and ideas for people to look at and find that one perfect fit for them.  Many people struggle to launch a home based business, often the struggle is in finding something they enjoy doing, I am helping you shrink down the time it takes you to find a good business opportunity.  While my list is not all-inclusive, I do hope that it will help you seek happiness and fulfillment.
