| Valentines Day Wedding? |

Interested in a Valentines Day wedding? Personally, my fiancé suggested this and I looked at him as if he was crazy. I am not huge on the idea. My first thoughts when he suggested this was holy cow that’s only a few months to lose weight, pick invitations, get dress, arrange honeymoon, cake, flowers and so, so much more.
This thought sent me into a panic. He however thought it was the most romantic idea in the world. Can you see the difference of opinions sparking now? He has pushed heavily for this because he thinks it would be the most romantic day to get married. I personally think this is insane. So many people want to get married on Valentines Day and I want some parts of my wedding to be unique to us, and not shared by thousands upon thousands of others marrying for the sake of getting married on the most romantic day of the year.
Moreover, I will be a bit selfish here; if I allow him to have his Valentines Day wedding then I am cutting myself out of a present. Then he gets away with one present for our anniversary and for Valentines Day. That to me is cheating. However, in all seriousness, I want to get married somewhere special, which means I am figuring on a long waiting list before getting the exact date that will work for our schedules, our families’ schedules, plus allow me to meet my weight goals.
If you are interested in a Valentines Day wedding though you need to act quickly, most wedding chapels and churches are likely to be booked up already, or near capacity. This is a huge tragedy if you have your heart set upon a Valentines Day wedding at a special place. Think ahead and at least book the site, you can always scour for alternate places to get your cake, flowers, etc if you start running short on time.
I commend those who are brave enough to attempt to plan a Valentines Day wedding this late, it shows a great ability to deal with stress, and pull together that special day with a mere days to work with. If this is your idea and plans, then remember that you are coming up to a very busy season with not much time to waste. Get started picking out the dress that is going to be the next biggest hurdle your likely to face after getting the chapel site booked. The dress often has to be altered for the perfect fit, so time must be built into your schedule to allow for the alterations to be done properly.
As I look around planning my wedding for sometime in oh say the Fall of 2007 or potential Spring of 2008 I am so overwhelmed with the different dress ideas. I am looking forward to shedding the extra pounds and going dress shopping. I think this is something special that should be looked to with great awe and excitement and joy. Here’s to a great Valentines Day for everyone and hopefully you can spend it with that very special someone, even if it is not at the alter that day. |
